DFW’s new CARES program is designed to support unemployed Albertans in rural communities better. We’re expanding our reach to serve Camrose and surrounding areas, helping individuals take the next step toward meaningful employment.
If you live in Tofield, Viking, Sedgewick, Bawlf, Daysland, Killam, Bashaw, or a nearby community, we’re here for you.

Starts with an Intake Appointment

We’ll help identify your strengths and any challenges you may be facing in finding work. Based on this, DFW will recommend the best program stream to guide you toward meaningful employment.

Job Placement Services

This stream is designed for job-ready individuals who may benefit from additional support such as career counselling and guided job search services. Participants are expected to secure employment within 12 weeks.

In addition, DFW provides 90 days of job maintenance support to help ensure long-term success in the workplace.

Placement or Workforce Development

Participants are encouraged to engage in these services actively. 

You would be eligible for access to Short Term Exposure Course funding to support your employment journey.

WorkForce Development

This stream is for individuals who are unemployed or marginally employed and are ready to address multiple obstacles affecting their ability to secure and maintain work.

By committing to this program, participants benefit both personally and professionally, with access to tailored DFW supports.

Program Highlights:

Goal: Secure employment within 16 weeks

May qualify for Paid Work Exposure (up to 10 weeks)

Receive on-the-job Work Maintenance Support (up to 8 weeks)

Plus receive 90 days of Job Maintenance Support after employment begins
